Marcus is a blessing

Hi Ayanna,

I did not have a chance to meet you at Women's and Babies on the 10th, but I met your family and Marcus' grandpa in a waiting room out front. I learned that you and Marcus would be in Room 95. I was at the hospital for many hours awaiting the birth of Juliana Rose Hershey in Room 93 with her parents, Heidi and Loren.

I have thought of you so often. Heidi thinks that you walked the halls together some during those hours of labor. She would very much like to talk to you. It is such pain to lose your precious baby. Her baby girl, Juliana, was stillborn, but I know she would rather tell her own story.

Twenty-nine years ago, our baby, Kaleb was born at 33 weeks. He lived for 2 days because since his condition was unknown, they immediately put him on life support. After testing, they found that he had Trisomy 13 and would not be able to live. I still grieve deeply sometimes. And very often these months as Heidi knew her baby would not live. I am her mentor (even before the baby's diagnosis) and am SO sad that Juliana is not here.

My Father is amazing that he would cause this love I feel for you and Marcus. I celebrate his life with you.

He is SO cute in this photo!!!

And I share your sadness that he is not here with you.

Please use my email if you would like my cell number to text or get together. I live in Lancaster. I know Heidi would very much like to talk or write to you also. kendra.gehman@gmail.com

Hugs,
