Michael H. Scheerer, 77, of Center Valley, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 2, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Katharine "Kathy" (Moran) Scheerer. Together they shared 49 years of marriage. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Albert and Mary (Hayes) Scheerer. He graduated from Frostbrug State Univ., where he was founding President of his fraternity, TKE. He later received his M Ed. from Loyola Univ. and an MBA from Mt St. Mary's College.  He worked at St. Maria Goretti  High School in Hagerstown, MD, Mt. St. Mary's College, Mack Truck Co., Waste Management, Bergey's, DeSales University, and Straight Arrow Products.  He was a member of Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church, Bethlehem and was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus.
     Survivors: In addition to his wife, Kathy;  5 sons, Michael H. Scheerer, Jr. of Center Valley; John A. Scheerer (Lisa) of Corpus Christi, TX; Peter J. Scheerer of Center Valley; Daniel M. Scheerer (Astrid) of Sinking Springs; Stephen D. Scheerer of Pittsburgh; 1 daughter, Katharine "Katy" M. (Curt) Crouthamel of Center Valley; 1 brother, Joseph R. Scheerer (Angie) of Maryland and 8 grandchildren.
     Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday evening, Jan. 4th from 6-8:00 p.m. in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St. Bethlehem, and on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at Assumption of The BVM Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike Bethlehem followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
