Obituary for Jack Rossnagle

Print
Jack Rossnagle, 93, of Wind Gap, originally of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away Saturday, October 20, at St. Luke’s Anderson Campus, Bethlehem, PA. He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on November 14, 1924, a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Rossnagle. He married the love of his life, Marguerite (Taylor) Rossnagle in 1951. They were married 65 years before her passing in 2017.

Jack was a proud veteran of the US Army. He served in World War II, stationed in England. After he returned home, he was employed by Sanko Textile Mill. He went on to work for the Garden State Water Company where he worked until he retired. Jack was an avid sports fan, rooting for his favorite team, the Boston Red Sox and watching his son play football and baseball for Phillipsburg. He was also a coach for PAL Football. He was a devoted husband and companion to his wife Marguerite; and they enjoyed walking, eating out, and going to the horse track and casino together. Even at 93 years old, Jack took a weekly trip to the Sands Casino to play the slots, his favorite pastime.

Survivors include his daughter Tammy (Rossnagle) Lewis and husband Craig of East Stroudsburg, PA; his daughter-in-law Justina (Karner) Rossnagle of Pen Argyl, PA; his grandchildren Julie (Rossnagle) Cassidy and husband Ryan, Jill Rossnagle, and Joseph Canfield and wife Vanessa; his adoring great grandchildren, Finn and Isla Cassidy; his sister Joyce Strauss; his sister-in-laws Arlene Taylor and Shirley Horn; his brother-in-law Ed Statler; and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was predeceased by his wife Marguerite, son Roger, and sisters Lorraine and Jean.
