Obituary for Francesca R. Kostalis
Francesca R. Kostalis, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away in her home on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Gizella (Korpics) Fazio. She worked for the former Western Electric for 30 years before retiring and then was a crossing guard at Spring Garden and Linden Sts., where she touched the lives of many young people for over 15 years; some of whom kept in touch with her even as adults starting their own families. She was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help R. C. Church and served as an usher, attended Bible Study Group and was a member of the Seniors group. She was also a 35 year volunteer for Musikfest and an original volunteer for Zollner Arts Center, which were both very important to her.
Survivors: she is survived by her son, Michael T. Kostalis and his wife, Diane of Bethlehem Twp.; brothers, Jules Perschy, Pete Fazio; sisters, Dorothy Perschy, Sandy Fazio; 2 grandchildren, Michael J and Amanda M. Kostalis. She was preceded in death by a brother, James and a sister, Dolores.
Services: Relatives and friends may call, Wednesday, Oct. 18th., from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St., Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help R. C. Church. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Offer condolences at www.jamesfuneralhome.org
Contributions: May be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
