Celebration of Life

Celebration of Life Information

When you lose someone you care deeply about, it can be very rewarding to take the time to celebrate their life’s journey, their special gifts, and all they did during their lifetime for all those they met along the way.

We are here to help you commemorate the life of your loved one, and promise to work closely with you, and within your budget, to ensure your loved one’s memory lives on. Please take the time to review our Personalization Services below or contact us today to discuss the possibilities.
Sarah York opens her beautifully-crafted book, Remembering Well, with the very personal story about how her family chose to pay tribute to her mother. "My mother died in April 1983... She didn't want a funeral. 'Get together and have a party,' she had said when the topic was allowed to come up." However, she was quick to tell readers that the survivors did not honor the request. "We needed the ritual. We needed to say good-bye, but we also needed a ritual that would honor her spirit and would be faithful to her values and beliefs."

When Ms. York acknowledges the position of her family—that they needed not a party but a ritual—she teaches us all something important: the celebration of life events we plan with families should be shaped as much by their own emotional and spiritual needs as their desire to celebrate the life lived.

Digital Video Tributes
We have partnered with Freehstone Technologies, a local Bethlehem Company, to handle the production and design of Video Tributes. These beautiful videos may be shown during the visitation period in the funeral home on our 2 monitors with copies given to the family to take home with them. This service is included in many of our funeral packages or may also be added to other packages or purchased individually. These tributes are an excellent way to celebrate and conical the life of your loved one, as well as for your family to treasure long into the future. To learn more about this service, call us.

Live Funeral Webcasting
In today’s world, it’s not uncommon for friends and family to live in another state, or even another country. Perhaps someone who would like to attend the funeral or memorial service is too ill to travel. Our webcasting service will bring the service to them, with real-time streaming video over the Internet. We also have the ability to professionally record the funeral service on DVD. If you would like to explore this opportunity, please call us.

Letting the Public Know a Death Has Occurred
It’s common, and unfortunate. Often, people don’t hear about a passing or learn about it too late to attend the service, send flowers, or a sympathy gift to the family.

But with James Funeral Home, it doesn’t have to be that way. We will work hard to ensure everyone in your loved one’s community gets a chance to say a final goodbye and show their support through both traditional newsprint obituaries and electronic media. Let us take a few minutes of your time to explain this service. Call James Funeral Home to learn more .

We are Here to Listen and Serve
The staff of James Funeral Home & Cremation Service, PC, has years of experience and many wonderful commemoration and celebration of life ideas to share. We will listen to what you would like to plan and will carry our your requests and ideas in a dignified and compassionate format. A funeral can only be done one time and it is our job to make sure it is in keeping with your requests and needs. If you would like more information on any of our services, or would like to discuss how we can work together to create a moving funeral or memorial service in honor of your loved one, please contact us.

While celebrations of life are not burdened by social expectations—they can be pretty much anything you want them to be—it's important to realize that the event you're planning should meet the emotional needs of the guests. So, think about exactly who will be there, and what they're likely to want or need. Then, bring in those unique lifestyle and personality characteristics of the deceased; perhaps add live music or refreshments, and you've got the beginnings of a remarkable celebration of life.
