Obituary for Joseph Grosskettler

Joseph  Grosskettler
Joseph A. Grosskettler, 84, of Bethlehem, died suddenly on Monday, Sep. 24, 2018 in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy Grosskettler who died in 2014. Born in Hazelton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dolores (Fritz) Grosskettler. He graduated from Hazleton H. S. in 1951 and later attended Penn State University graduating with a degree in Business. He remained a Penn State fan the rest of his life. Joe served in the U. S. Army and worked in sales for many years until retiring from the Chrin Waste Management Company. He was an active member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church, Bethlehem, where he was a former collection counter and involved in various parish committees. He was also a member of VFW Post 2124 and Fearless Fire Company in South Allentown and a life member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors: He is survived by his loving daughter, Jann Anthony and her husband, Barry, grandchildren, Samantha and Blake all of Salisbury Twp. and his Cats who he enjoyed caring for. He was preceded in death by his brother John "Jack" Grosskettler who died in 2016.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, Sep. 28th., from 10:30 - 11:20 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. all in the Church of the Assumption BVM, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, (Upper Saucon Twp.) Bethlehem, PA 18015. Private Interment will take place later. Arrangements entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem. Offer condolences at www.jamesfuneralhome.org. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church or to New Bethany Ministries, 337 Wyandotte St., Bethlehem, PA 18015
